This
arbor tea
is a 2005 cooked pu'er cake. These
arbor teas
come from tall mountain arbor trees in Menghai County, southern Yunnan Province, a region known for fantatic pu'er-growing characteristics. Xuan's "Tall Mountain
Arbor Tea
" comes from wild arbor trees planted near the end of the Qing Dynasty, most of which are over 100 years old. This
pu'er cake
has the classic characteristics of arbor teas from this type of tree: a rich flavor, sweet finish, and a pure and fragrant aroma.
This tea is not bitter and the smoothness can even be described as creamy. Such a smooth clean flavor is well suited to pu'er enthusiasts and new pu'er drinkers alike.
Like our "2005
Grade A pu-erh
" tea, this tea is also from the Yangji Tianyuan Factory. This factory is one of the new factories that was created in the early 2000's after the privitization of Yunnan's tea industry. The founder, Yang Jian Lin, began working at Menghai Tea Factory in 1983 and was promoted to Factory director in 2000 before starting Yangji Tianyuan in 2003. His family has worked in the tea industry in Menghai since the 1950's. They are from the Hani minority group, which is one of the first groups in China to begin cultivating
pu'er tea
.
