Glass brewing
Almost any tea can be brewed in a basic glass. It's the fastest and easiest way to enjoy your favorite teas, and also the best way to enjoy visually appealing loose leaf teas, like our fine
silver needle white tea
(silver tips tea - shown in the photo to the left), our excellent
dragon well green tea
, or a special scented teas such as our wonderfully aromatic
jasmine pearl
tea.
Gaiwan tea brewing
Gaiwan, which literally translates into "Lid bowl," consists of three parts: a lid on top, a saucer on the bottom, and a bowl in the middle. These parts represent heaven, earth, and people, respecitvely.
It is the prefered method for brewing most lighter teas, like our selection of some of the
healthiest green tea
from China, or our choice of the best
Chinese white tea
available.
However, they can be used to brew just about any tea, and is also commonly used for brewing darker teas like quality
loose black tea
and cooked
Chinese pu er
. A benefit to using a gaiwan over a glass is that the water is poured in and out quickly, as opposed to sitting in with the tea for a long time. This allows drinkers to get more from their leaves. Gaiwans are also great for serving multiple guests.
Clay tea pot
Clay tea pots are used in what's known as "Gong Fu" tea brewing, which refers to a process that is done carefully over time. Indeed, the art of brewing with a clay tea pot takes time to master. True connoisseurs will "raise" a pot brewing only one kind of tea. After years of drinking one tea from one pot, it's said that plain water can be poured into the pot, and poured out tasting like that tea.
This is the ideal method for enjoying the
best oolong tea
and
chinese pu er
tea, and is also sometimes used for brewing
loose black tea
.
